Though perhaps more a wooden version of the world cup tactic, Torquay still felt the sharp end as Simmo`s Spear of destiny (4-3-2-1) notched another high flying League Two scalp in the South West this Saturday afternoon. The Silkmen have weaved a magic carpet to whisk them on their travels and no mistake. Having charred the Chairboys with two goal of the season contenders they followed it up by outflying and outgunning the Gulls.

Size of a rhinoceros barked Arabian knight in chief Hamza Bencherif as he waded through the middle of the Kasbah for the first. Oh yes Bencherif baked up a beauty as the clock struck a dozen in the land of Steam beer. Yo-ho-ho Hamza steamed through to hit a 25 yard haymaker that had the keeper raising a glass and little else as it whistled into his net for the first.

The Gulls, gutted but unbowed lay siege to crazy Veiga the cape crusader and Captain Morgan and his crews net. Surely soon they would drive the Silkmen to the rocks? They did but once, well disallowed goal apart, as any luck was duly reversed as Benyons belly flop of a shot looped over Jose. What must this green fingered hero and his sidekicks do to keep those sheets clean of a Saturday evening you may well ask?

In truth an end to end half deserved level pegging although the Silkmen were carving out the better chances second half and deservedly took the lead on 76. Bennett had one goal bound header blocked by Draper but made amends with a beauty. A poor punch saw him volley home from just outside the box to the joy of the travelling fans and bench.

Two minutes later Emil Sinclair burst over the halfway line leaving bodies in his speedy Gonzales slipstream. Having weaved past a statue he outwitted the centre half, before drilling a twenty - yarder into the bottom left hand corner.

And by Jove if it wasn`t 3 goals 3 points and up to twentieth for Simmo`s smooth Silky crew. Talking of which tis the Dario Grady bunch Tuesday - who's for a trip down the road?
